A standard LARP sword consists of a fibreglass or solid carbon fibre rod sandwiched between layers of foam; shaped and coated with latex rubber. A final layer of clear Isoflex rubber varnish is highly advisable to increase durability. Other types of weapon may involve different construction techniques but will all have at least something in common with a basic sword.
